The postseason is nearing, and at this stage, teams across the state are trying to simulate the level of competition they will see there. Whether it be area games to push a team into the postseason or games against a team of a higher classification, those games can only speed up the process. 

The Horseshoe Bend softball team took that to heart, matching up with Holtville on Thursday night, a team three classifications higher. However, it was the Bulldogs who prevailed in the non-area contest, 6-2.
