Children’s Harbor announced this week the public phase of Charting the Future: A Legacy of Care and Excellence, a five-year, $25 million capacity campaign designed to help the nonprofit serve more children with serious illnesses and their families across Alabama. The campaign will expand no-cost mental health services beyond the Harbor Family Center in Birmingham and improve Children’s Harbor’s Lake Martin Campus in Eclectic, increasing accessibility, safety and year-round programming.

As of Sept. 30, Children’s Harbor has secured $16,746,239 million, representing 67% of the campaign goal. Shaped by conversations with families, caregivers, camp partners and community partners, the campaign focuses on three priorities: renovations to Mariners’ Youth Camp, improvements to Harbor Lodge Family Camp and expansion of Children’s Harbor’s Mental Health Program. Unlike a traditional capital campaign focused primarily on construction, Charting the Future will invest in the facilities, programs and partnerships that expand Children’s Harbor’s capacity to serve families.
