Before a long budget meeting Tuesday morning, the Coosa County Commission approved the payoff of a debt service loan.

“The loan payoff was a no brainer,” Coosa Commission chairman Lamar Daugherty said. “There was only $50,000 left on that old loan that we were making payments on. They were basically draining one account with bank fees to have that open so we voted to pay it off to keep from paying $1,800 in a year in fees.”
