Much of the expectation heading into the season surrounded how young of a team the Benjamin Russell boys basketball team would be coming out with. Alijah Johnson was the only returning starter from a year ago, which saw the Wildcats reach the Sweet 16.

However, it’s those youthful players who are now proven veterans and are carrying the workload for Benjamin Russell. And that showed in a 67-62 win over Chilton County on Thursday night.
