Horses bring families together

Amongst the updates Tallapoosa County Agribusiness Arena director Robert Reams gave to the Alexander City Kiwanis Club, he brought up an important sidebar many people miss — the effect agriculture has on families.

“The important thing about doing things with livestock and horse shows, things like that, it’s something the whole family can do together,” Reams said. “In the horse world, this weekend we had a lady that was in her 80s riding. Some people were showing. We have kids, moms and dads, and grandparents all doing this together. This is the one place you'll go where kids are not playing on their telephones. That's an important thing in this day and time.”
