We are part of the football offseason, where things are just weird and somewhat boring. Obviously, most media companies know that; so its hot take, hypotheticals, depth chart projections — the whole nine yards.

But one headline has snuck out amongst the nothingness with another possible expansion of the college football playoffs. Doing away with the 12-team model and expanding it to a whopping 24-team playoff bracket. Thus far, coaches in the Big 10 and SEC have been the biggest supporters of an overall playoff expansion. The Big 10 is on the side of 24 teams, while the SEC has proposed an expansion, but not as grandiose, with 16 teams.
