Alex City Fire and Rescue raises money for MDA camp

The Alexander City Fire and Rescue Department raised $3,600 in May to benefit the Alabama Muscular Dystrophy Association to cover the cost of sending kids to summer camp at Camp ASCCA.

In three weeks Alabama children with muscle disease will be arriving at Camp ASCCA to enjoy a week of activities while connecting with friends and taking new steps toward independence.

For children living with muscle disease, MDA Summer Camp is a magical place where anything is possible — from swimming to ziplining and horseback riding to dancing under a disco ball — all while gaining valuable life skills.
