Annual Thanksgiving meal sponsored by local churches aims to 'touch lives'

The dinner is held on Thanksgiving to provide for those who may not have the means to put a Thanksgiving dinner on the table and also for those who work in public service roles. There will be only to-go plates this year due to COVID-19 and those coming to pick up plates are asked to wear masks.

Several churches are coming together to offer a free Thanksgiving meal to those in the Alexander City community.

The meal will be served at the Benjamin Russell High School cafeteria from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The menu will consist of a traditional Thanksgiving meal including turkey, ham, dressing, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, bread, cranberry sauce, and desserts.
