Three candidates for the vacant District 5 seat will be interviewed today by the Alexander City City Council and a final decision may come at Monday’s regularly scheduled council meeting.

Chris Brown, Susan Foy and Jeff Smith applied for the council seat which was vacated when council president Tommy Spraggins became mayor upon the death of Jim Nabors on May 6. Brown, Foy and Smith will be interviewed for 20 minutes apiece by councilmembers at city hall, beginning with Foy at 4 p.m., followed by Smith and Brown.
