City to condemn multiple properties

At its last meeting, the City of Alexander City City Council approved a resolution to set a public hearing for fiscal year 2024 condemnation proposals. Multiple properties have been identified as condemned. Property owners have the right to appeal to the city council on May 20 at 5:30 p.m.

The City of Alexander City is currently in the strategic planning phase of developing a new comprehensive plan. The city has hosted numerous community meetings with the hope of gaining a better understanding of what the citizens of Alex City want for their community. The city’s strategic planners and staff have observed a common theme — our citizens want to see their neighborhoods flourish and become a safe place for growing families.
