The Alexander City City Council will hold a special called meeting today at 9:30 a.m. to make sure that government operations can continue.

Council President Jim Spann announced Monday night that the current council felt that it wasn’t appropriate to pass a new budget until some of the financial issues that have been lingering were cleared up. Since the new council will be seated in November, they will allow them to pass their own budget “rather than saddling them with numbers that they have had no input in,” Spann said.
