When the word “community” comes to mind, many think of a group of individuals who live in the same place, share the same interests or have similar characteristics in common. However, a community is so much more than that.
After being diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer at the beginning of 2025, Alexander City native Will Dark has seen the true meaning of community firsthand. After his diagnosis, Dark saw the Alex City community rally around him and his family. Dark first began to notice unusual symptoms in 2023.
