Lizi Arbogast / The Outlook New Benjamin Russell defensive coordinator John Fussell has already been impressed with the BRHS defensive coaches as well as how coachable the players are.

For the last 10 seasons, Benjamin Russell football fans have gotten used to Steve Burkhalter stalking the sidelines as the Wildcat defensive coordinator. 

Although it seemed like a blow when Burkhalter announced he’d be returning to Clay Central to work with former BRHS head coach Danny Horn, the pieces quickly seemed to fall into place for current Wildcat coach Kevin Smith.
