Marcus Woody to be inducted to Troy Athletics Hall of Fame

Submitted / TPI Former Benjamin Russell graduate Marcus Woody is to be honored in the Troy Sport Hall of Fame as a standout in track and field.

One of Benjamin Russell’s very own is set to be inducted into the Troy Athletics Hall of Fame in April. Marcus Woody was a standout track and field athlete from both the Wildcats and Trojans, and now his name is to be forever memorialized. 

Woody was a two-time All-American and a three-time winner of the James Batie Award for Troy's Outstanding Track Athlete. For nearly 32 years, he was the school record holder in the men’s 800-meter race with a time of 1:49.40. He placed fourth in the 1993 NCAA Division II National Championship and the following year finished fifth overall.
