Weogufka loses only fire truck in a wreck

Last week, the Weogufka Volunteer Fire Department suffered a huge loss.

“While responding to a call for mutual aid on a large brush fire in Stewartville … our pumper truck was involved in a single vehicle accident,” a Facebook post stated. “There was only one person in the fire truck … firefighter Sam Higginbotham. Sam was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center for evaluation. He was treated and released. We are thankful that he escaped without any major life threatening injuries.”
