Elmore County residents who find their usual prescriptions hard to swallow might find an alternative at PharMix Rx, the new compounding pharmacy in Wetumpka. This pharmacy mixes medications on site, tailoring them to the needs of patients who cannot take commercial pharmaceutical medications.

PharMix Rx opened in April on Highway 231 in Wetumpka. Owners Holli and Patrick Anthony have lived in Wetumpka for 16 years. Patrick is the business manager, while Holli is the pharmacist. After she graduated from pharmacy school, Holli became intrigued by the small amount of compounding done at her first job.
