The mountains of Cuba and a cold spot in the Gulf may have weakened Hurricane Dennis some, but it’s quickly gaining strength.

During a 4 p.m. briefing with the National Weather Service and county Emergency Management Agencies, meteorologist out of Birmingham said even though the hurricane spent most of the day as a Category 2 storm, it more than likely will make landfall as a Category 3 or 4.
