On a recent fishing trip to Slidell Louisiana I had the privilege of fishing with Mat McCabe, an upcoming tournament bass fisherman. He still has his day job, but if his winning continues, he could turn into a full time fisherman.

The first question that came up was what type of baits he preferred. One of his favorites is a jig, in all colors and sizes, although he prefers a large dark green one. I watched him haul bass after bass over the side using his jig fishing techniques.
