Spamming, spyware and pop-ups are terms Internet users have become familiar with in the past few years and many Internet users have dealt with these problems at some point. But many users may not realize simple steps can be taken to protect your computer and your personal information.

“The Internet has given us this great ability to communicate but it has also exposed us to more dangers,” said Don Torelli of Lake Martin Internet. Torelli spoke about Internet security issues at the July 12 Dadeville Chamber meeting. He has specialized in computer networking and security issues since 2000.
