Ladybugs are commonly regarded as good luck and a friendly insect to have in the garden. They eat aphids, which feed on plants and can transmit diseases from one plant to another. But for many Lake Martin residents, these friendly garden bugs have become household pests.

Populations of the ladybug – or more accurately the Asian lady beetle – are currently migrating south to their wintering area. On their migratory trek they pass through Tallapoosa County.
