He wasn’t there when the liberation of Europe started on the beaches of Normandy 60 years ago, but Wayne Atkins was there at the battle that marked Hitler’s last attempt to take over Europe.

Atkins was with the 78th Army Infantry Division in the Battle of the Bulge. As the nation remembered the 60th anniversary of D-Day Sunday, Atkins has been looking back at his time served during the war.
