Story & Photo by Fletcher Scott

Wandering around as I often do, walking an old railroad grade, I tried to keep my mind focused on finding where deer may have crossed. As I kicked back a pile of leaves, something shiny caught my attention. I picked it up and examined a small glass bottle. It didn’t look familiar at first glance, until I held it up to the light. The embossed label read Thomas A. Edison. Was this Thomas Edison the prolific inventor of all things electrical? I stuffed the little bottle in my pocket and walked on.
