Anyone even vaguely interested in wildlife habitats can improve his or her property through a variety of plantings and a little habitat manipulation. Not just deer, but also songbirds, quail and turkey can benefit from a few changes made to property.

Last month, Lake Martin Quality Deer Management Association partnered with the Tallapoosa County Treasure Forest Association to offer a firsthand look at how to make these changes. This Timber and Wildlife Habitat Tour took place at Jerry and Genelle Brown’s farm near Hackneyville, in northwestern Tallapoosa County.
