The pump equipment needed to keep Alexander City’s water supply flowing smoothly during this year’s record drought is now being installed and should be fully operational by Monday.

Employees of Pearson Construction could be seen wading through the abnormally low waters of Lake Martin Friday, connecting pipes to the main intake of Alexander City’s water treatment plant. The pipes will be attached to four floating pumps over the weekend.
