One man, living in Alexander City, can say he helped to open the door to give teens all over the country the right to vote.

Tom Radney, serving as a Democratic State Senator at the time, introduced a bill to the senate in 1967, which would eventually lead to the 26th amendment to the United States Constitution in 1971, giving 18 year-old’s the right to vote.
