With spring turkey season over, many outdoor enthusiasts are turning to gardening for an outdoor activity. Home grown vegetables are delicious to man and wildlife – and that’s where a problem arises. Man has been battling crop depredation and livestock losses from wild animals since the first settlers arrived.

Dr. James Armstrong, a wildlife scientist with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System says deer are responsible for the most crop depredation statewide.
