An energy conservation management initiative has saved the Elmore County Public School System (ECPS) more than $4 million.

Since the program’s inception in January 2009, energy savings across 24 operational buildings – including schools, the Elmore County Technical Center and the central office – have amounted to some $4.1 million, according to ECPS Energy Manager Paul Anthony. As of October 2014, the initiative has cut the school system’s energy costs 29 percent since its implementation.
