During the past few years, I’ve learned to appreciate trolling more, especially when it comes to catching fresh water species.

Crappie are a prime example. Thousands of crappie have fallen to the trolling method. Birmingham’s Jimmy Dixon is one of many who made trolling a popular method. Nicknamed “Jimmy Many Hooks” by all that knew him, Dixon had a different approach to the art of trolling. He fished out of a flat-bottom boat with two seats that faced the back of the boat. He sat backward to do what most of us do when fishing.
