Have you ever watched the outdoor shows on television showing wading fishermen landing a nice rainbow trout? They all show a fisherman standing knee deep in a mountain stream, decked out in waders and a fly fishing vest, having the time of their life with breath-taking scenery in the background.

Alabama is basically troutless with the exception of Smith Lake and a few small stocked streams. If you want to trout fish, you have to go to north Georgia or the mountain regions of eastern Tennessee or western North Carolina.
