Overlook Fire Tower

Since its announcement in 2022, the Cherokee Ridge Alpine Trail Association’s Overlook Fire Tower project has become one of Lake Martin’s most anticipated new attractions. Slated to open in summer 2025, the historic 110-foot tower was relocated from Virginia and is currently being reconstructed just 600 feet from Overlook Park. Perched on one of the highest points of Cherokee Bluffs, the tower offers breathtaking views of Lake Martin and surrounding hiking trails. Modeled after the Smith Mountain Fire Tower, construction is nearly complete, with the placement of hand railings as the final step before it opens to visitors seeking sky-high adventure this summer.
