According to a press release from the Opelika Police Department, a Dadeville woman has succumbed to her injuries following a train-car crash on Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 2:54 p.m. Wednesday, Opelika Police and Fire responded to a vehicle versus train crash on 8th Street at the railroad crossing. Upon arrival, they located a 69-year-old female from Dadeville, entrapped in a Mercedes passenger car, according to the release. The female was transported to East Alabama Medical Center, where she was life-flighted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where she later succumbed to her injuries.
