Charlie Kirk Vigiil

Cliff Williams / TPI Hundreds of Elmore County residents gathered Sunday on the steps of the Elmore County Courthouse for a vigil to remember Charlie Kirk.

Local resident Ashley Carter wanted to do something Wednesday after hearing the news of Charlie Kirk’s untimely death in Utah.

Carter chatted with the young Republican about his Turning Point organization during the Republican National Convention. The two chatted and took photographs together. Carter is president of the Republican Women of Elmore County and had been following Kirk prior to his untimely shooting death. The meeting just cemented her idea that Kirk was what the Republican Party needed from the younger generation. Kirk’s death affected Carter and many others across Elmore County and the nation.
