Missing person arrest

Submitted / TPI The Fort Deposit Fire Department responded to a house fire on River Road in Hayneville on Sunday. A body was discovered there Tuesday believed to be that of missing Denesha Lyles of Tallassee. Deldrick Keon Thomas, 36, of Hayneville has been arrested for Lyles' murder and first-degree arson for setting fire to his home.

Ten days after Denesha Lyles dropped her children off with family in Tallassee and eight days after a fire at the Hayneville home of her boyfriend, Deldrick Keon Thomas, the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office announced an arrest in what they believe to be Lyle's murder and a case of arson.

The arrest was announced one week after Lyles's family reported her missing to the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office and six days after an unidentified female body was pulled from the remnants of the burned home. The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office announced Thomas, 36, of Hayneville had been arrested for the murder of Lyles and first-degree arson.
