The late summer always has a certain atmosphere, a smell, a feeling, a vibe, if you will. There is something so invigorating about back to school season for kids and parents alike, even adults without kids. It means that the blisteringly hot summer is finally drawing to a close, and most things will go back to a normal, steady routine. Everybody has a different favorite part about back to school season. One personal favorite might be back to school shopping, buying a few new notebooks, some new folders, a new set of pens, a new planner. It’s almost as exciting as the New Year, evoking the same feeling of turning the page.

For students, it’s easy to parse what their favorite parts of going back to school are, aside from the dread of homework and tests. Getting to be back in the classroom with a new, awesome teacher is always exciting, only slightly less exciting than being back with all of your best friends every day. The comforting chaos of the lunchroom, the prospect of learning new things and taking on new challenges. Maybe starting a new extracurricular, or spending more time focusing on another one.
