Prevention is not the solution for ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, and myriad pregnancy complications that require medical intervention. "Abortion" is the term for a medical procedure; whether elective or medically necessary, the procedure IS an abortion.Â
Extensive sex and health education, simpler access to birth control, and improvements to healthcare options would be a giant leap forward for Alabama--and the nation--toward your goal of reducing the number of elective abortions (Keeping in mind that no form of birth control is 100 percent effective except abstinence, which is not a realistic option for the entire adult population.)Â
