I’ve been mulling over a column idea for a few weeks now and while my thoughts may not be entirely clear, I think this is important enough to try to write.

One of the biggest pluses to municipal government is the lack of the D and R behind the elected officials’ names. It’s not like we don’t know which party each is affiliated with for the most part, it’s that the D and R just don’t matter.
