In and around Alabama high school baseball, there are few honors higher than being named to the North-South All Star game, hosted to showcase rising seniors each summer. This year Wetumpka will send a coach, Russ Brooks, and a player, rising senior Miller Lombardi, to the North-South All Star game on July 20.

“It’s a big deal for a player to be asked,” Brooks said. “We’ve been lucky here to be able to put people in that game a lot. One year we had two guys, and that’s very hard to do is put two guys in the North-South All Star game. We’re super excited for Miller and for him to represent our program. It’s good to watch them play in it, and it’s good for their families too. They work hard for that opportunity and it’s nice to watch when somebody gets what they work for.”
