College football’s chaos era could be headed for regulation

To a degree, college football will become something else entirely if the social media rumor mills are any indication.

On Wednesday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz and ranking member Maria Caldwell introduced the ‘Protect College Sports Act,’ which would impose a flurry of rules on the game. Among the standouts listed in the bill, the key ones consist of: create one national NIL law that overrides state-by-state rules, give governing bodies more authority over transfer rules and tampering, restrict some in-season coaching movement and hiring activity along with strengthen the NCAA's ability to enforce compensation and eligibility rules, according to an article published by CBS Sports.
