Edgewood Academy crowns 2 track and field state champions

In all the chaos of the spring, track and field is one of those sports that tends to fly under the radar. Edgewood Academy’s track and field team produced two state champions this season at the AISA State Meet, senior Barrett Brown for discus and senior Ja’Qub Anthony for high jump. 

Brown threw for a distance of 127-foot-3, breaking her own record set at last season’s state meet and out-throwing her second place competitor by 36 feet. For his state title, Anthony jumped a mark of 6-0, surpassing the second place finisher’s 5-feet-10 inch jump.
