Former Elmore County Panther Sean Darnell is poised to play on college baseball’s biggest stage — at Troy’s first-ever Super Regional. Darnell graduated from ECHS back in 2022, after which he continued his baseball career at Wallace-Dothan Community College. In 2021, Darnell was Elmore County’s Player of the Year as a junior, earning the honor with a .545 batting average and 55 hits.Â
Darnell played two successful seasons with the Governors, after which he got the opportunity to move up to the NCAA Division I level with the Troy University Trojans. Last week, Darnell joined Troy in making history as it earned its second regional berth in four seasons with an at-large bid to the Gainesville Regional. The Trojans were the No. 3 seed out of the four-team pool.Â

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and
pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any
circumstances.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stoke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible
and drink plenty of water.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
