The first week of the college football season is always a great learning experience especially when your team takes on some form of Power 4 competition. The SEC finished the week 16-0 and that hasn’t happened in several years. Most of the conference played less than stellar opponents and performed at a high level as one might imagine. Auburn, LSU and Ole Miss took on “major competition,” at least in the sense of an opponent from a major conference.

LSU looked phenomenal against what appears to be a very mundane Clemson team. Trinidad Chambliss and the Ole Miss offense looked very formidable against what appears to be a pretty good Louisville team. Auburn looked pedestrian against what appears to be a very improved, but somewhat pedestrian Baylor team.
