We are at the part of the sports calendar I might dread more than most: the near end of football. High school football is over, college football is over and all that remains for the NFL is the Super Bowl.

Now what? What am I going to write my columns about? What am I going to do on the weekends without my dual-TV setup in the living room? I get this constant state of dread every time the season ends, with the endless possibilities of what I’ll miss most.
