The Stanhope Elmore Mustangs baseball team went out to Tallassee for a non-area intercounty Thursday night matchup, in which the Mustangs took their eighth win of the season and broke a two-game losing skid.

The Mustangs (10-8) got things started early at the plate, building a four-run lead over the Tigers in the second inning. Tallassee responded in the bottom of the second with two runs of its own. The Tigers whittled the lead down to one with one run in the fifth. In the top of the seventh, SEHS scored its winning run with aggressive baserunning by Hayden Anderson, who was brought home by a sac fly from Wil Stephens.
