With all of the hype around the World Cup, plus the hype around college football and the NFL building, this offseason’s NBA free agency has seemed to fly under the radar. The 2025-26 NBA season was easily one of the most exciting in years. The San Antonio Spurs blazed to a finals appearance, marking themselves as a budding dynasty uniquely suited to dethrone the Thunder; the New York Knicks finally ended a 53-year title drought, precipitating some of the most joyous celebrations in recent sports history.

The NBA has delivered on the promises of epic rivalries between teams and individual players, dramatics that unfolded on the hardwood and in league front offices, all culminating in one of the best free agency periods we’ve seen in the modern iteration of the league.
