Stanhope Elmore releases 2026 football schedule

With the AHSAA having set in stone the new regions for the 2026-2028 cycle, football coaches across the state are cobbling together and announcing slates for the upcoming 2026 football season. 

Stanhope Elmore announced its schedule for the 2026 football season Thursday. The Mustangs are part of the new Class 5A Region 4 which retains six other teams — Russell County, Pike Road, Rehobeth, Percy Julian, Park Crossing and Wetumpka — in the previous Class 6A Region 4 from the last reclassification cycle and adds Benjamin Russell. Last season, the Mustangs finished 7-4 and made it to the first round of the playoffs.
