The Tallassee High School Class of 1964 meets monthly. The second Tuesday of each month is reserved at lunch for the classmates to gather and catch up on recent news.

But Veterans Day this year was a little different. The class first gathered at the gravesite of Calvin McGinty Jr. in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tallassee. He was one of four from the class in March 1964 who volunteered to join the Marine Corps while they were still seniors at Tallassee High School. The others were Larkus Smith, Jimmy Yates and Richard Thornell.
