Twenty-five years later, the impact of the deadliest terrorist attack in modern American history is still felt. But while first responders are remembered and victims are remembered, the unification of Americans in the aftermath is also remembered. 

When Sept. 11, 2001 occurred, it is probably safe to assume the majority of Americans remember exactly where they were at. They remember what they were thinking and who they were with. The first tower hit was thought to be some sort of horrible accident; however, by the second, many could piece what was happening was a tragedy they never thought they would see. Dadeville police chief Jonathan Floyd was working an EMS shift in Tallassee that morning when the first plane hit. When he made it back to the EMS office, he and his coworkers witnessed the second plane hitting the second tower. Floyd said that is when they knew 9/11 was not any accident.
