An annual mission at Horseshoe Bend School is not organized to simply only educate but also to make a difference.

HBS Family, Career and Community Leaders of America hosted its annual pink and teal fashion show this month. The show gives students the stage to showcase their outfits they put together for it, but most importantly it educates them on cancer diagnosis while promoting breast and ovarian cancer. After the show, the students watched a video from the Imaginary Friend Society describing what cancer is. However, the proceeds from the show went to support Tallapoosa Caring Refuge — an organization that provides financial assistance to local patients undergoing cancer treatment.
