Sometimes an author does not dream of writing a novel, but sometimes certain stories just have to be written.

Pat Cunningham Devoto is the author of “Bookin’ in the Big House: What I Learned Leading a Women’s Prison Book Club” and visited the Dadeville Public Library for an author talk last Wednesday. While the names of the women she wrote about from her prison book club were fictional, their stories were not. Devoto was invited to another prison to discuss books there after. She said when she went, that is what started her efforts to start a book club at the Montgomery Women’s Facility. When Devoto was getting ready to throw her experience's notes away, she decided to use them instead.
