In the second Camp Hill transitional work session, police chief Corey Shaw gave council members an overview of department strengths and public safety needs.

After giving a basic overview of the inner workings of the police department, Shaw presented the members with statistics on calls and traffic accidents. He also shared the current personnel of the department with a goal of hiring two additional full-time officers to join their eight-member team, which includes three reserve officers. He hopes adding to his force reduces overtime strain, increases response times and ensures 24-hour coverage. He also told the council about the department’s need for a seasoned criminal investigator.
